Renovation of a disused Victorian waiting room and ticket office for the Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership to provide a flexible community space and café.
Acting as lead designers and working alongside specialist contractors, ep projects designed and specified the restoration and fit-out of the former ticket office and waiting room at Shawford Station, near Winchester.
Desired Outcomes
To create a vibrant community space that attracts the local community, railway travellers and walkers and cyclists from the numerous local trails and ensuring that the building can operate in a more sustainable and energy efficient way.
The Challenge?
Working within the constraints of a late-Victorian structure with solid masonry walls, timber vaulted roof and timber sash windows to undertake a restoration that caters for its new occupants while respecting the original character of the building.
How did we Help?
We reviewed the level of remedial works and subsequently produced a proposed layout and interior design scheme, which we consolidated into a scope of works, specification and drawings for tender.
