Working in the Financial Sector? Register for the new Working Group from the EE Financial Institutions Group focused on increasing the flow of investment into energy efficiency

The Energy Efficiency Financial Institutions Group (EEFIG) is launching a new Working Group, led by ep group’s Dr. Steven Fawkes, on adopting the Energy Efficiency First principle within financial institutions. The Working Group is recruiting membership from across the financial sector and will look at best practice in public and private financial institutions, consider the barriers, and recommend the development of tools that could help financial institutions better able to address energy efficiency first. This is important because every day investment and lending decisions are being made into new assets and projects that do not incorporate cost-effective energy efficiency measures, locking in excess energy use for the life of the asset.

The EEFIG Working Group will address this critical element of the increasing the flow of investment into energy efficiency and raise awareness of the principle, and how to adopt it, within financial institutions across Europe. It will help advance the agenda of accelerating investment into energy efficiency but we need input from the sector and are looking to recruit Working Group members from both existing EEFIG members and other financial institutions of all types.

You can sign up for the EEFIG Working Group here.
